Future Trunks has always been considered one of the most popular characters introduced in Dragon ball Zwhere Vegeta and Bulma’s son played a pivotal role during both the Android Saga and Dragon Ball Super Goku Black Ark. While Trunks did not appear in the follow-up events in Dragon Ball Superincluding Tournament of Power, Moro Arc or Granolah The Survivor Arc, fan love for the character remains as strong as ever, with one player in the cosplay taking the opportunity to share a number of aesthetics for Z-FIghter from the future.
While Future Trunks hasn’t been hinted at returning to the Shonen franchise, Trunks of the Present is set to play a big role this summer. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. With the Red Ribbon Army ready to return to apparently avenge their organization’s destruction, Trunks will fuse with Goten once again to create the fusion character known as Gotenks, although it seems they won’t be able to get a perfect fusion dance this time around. With the red bar set to introduce two new androids in Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, Z-Fighters can definitely use all the help they can get.

While Shonen is set to hit theaters in Japan later this month, Dragon Ball Super The TV series has yet to confirm when, or indeed whether, it will return. Fortunately, there is plenty of material for anime adaptation to cover from the manga when you decide to return, as both Moro and Granolah Arcs are a major area of the franchise.
The state of Future Trunks is currently up in the air, having returned to a future that no longer exists after Goku Black Arc, although we certainly wouldn’t be surprised if he ever returns to the Shonen franchise.
